"We're so much more than the in-game clan": Gaming Experiences and Group Management in Multi-Space Online Communities

The platforms that host online gaming groups and communities continue to evolve, it has become possible join, participate in, consume content from exist across multiple tools, platforms, spaces at the same time. In this paper, we explore how use rely upon assemblages of accomplish "work" participating in these groups. We present an interview study with users the100.io, a platform hosts community spaces, helps players find groups, operates as event scheduling tool for its users. Contrary our initial assumptions, found relied the100 kind glue flexibly-interconnected, multi-space group configurations. These support participants' desires approach social practice, provide additional accountability among players, enable forms participation within those communities. Our findings point towards opportunities expand computing scholarship better describe flexibly bridge technical infrastructure.
